DESCRIPTION

The thematic itinerary THE MARMOTS OF CIMA D’ASTA starts from the location of Sorgazza, in the municipality of Pieve Tesino. The first installation is close to the splendid turquoise pond, continues on the forestry road which leads to Teleferica Brusà, and afterwards climbs up entirely on the path number 327 all the way to Cima d’Asta Hut. 

The whole itinerary is 6 km long with about 1000 m of elevation. This requires a considerable effort, and an adequate physical preparation is needed. Although, it is possible to walk part of the itinerary, and turn back to the car park by Malga Sorgazza. 

The ascent to Rifugio Cima d’Asta with the thematic itinerary in its whole, will be an amazing experience only if taken with the right gear, the proper training and the right clothes for the type of hike. 

The duration of the itinerary depends on how long you spend on each installation. 

On average the walking time between Malga Sorgazza and Rifugio Cima d’Asta is 4 hours. For the way back is about 3 hours.
